SCHOOL INFORMATION AND POLICIES

The Adams School of Art welcomes students with a diverse array of courses and workshops taught by professional artists and educators. Current Hammond Students Members enjoy the added benefit of free access to museum galleries, Japanese Stroll Garden and the convenience of on-site parking. Join us as we provide a welcoming space for students to explore their artistic passions.

Registration is through the Hammond website, www.hammondmuseum.org.

Open Registration: Friday, February 28th.

You may register late for a class if there is still space available and the instructor agrees to add another student. Fees are not prorated.

The Hammond frequently documents classes and workshops using photography and/or videos for publicity purposes Your registration in a class or visitation to the campus grants the Hammond permission to photograph/video you and/or your artwork, and to use these images in all publicity platforms. Please contact The Hammond school office to submit a written request if you want yourself to be excluded from photography or video recordings, to prevent any photo or video from being published, or for posted photography or video to be taken down.

The Hammond reserves the right to dismiss a student from the program in their sole judgment, when the student's documented or observed behavior and actions interferes with the rights and/or compromises the safety and well-being of others, and/or impedes the smooth functioning of the group or the activity. For most other instances of problematic behavior, action, or verbal statements, an individualized behavior modification plan will be implemented with periodic evaluation.

The Hammond reserves the option of refusing admission to any person deemed incompatible with any learning group due to disruptiveness or any impediment to a safe, productive, and positive learning environment.

Safety precautions and proper use of art materials and chemicals are rigorously practiced. Please use discretion when registering for classes, as The Hammond cannot be held responsible for adverse reactions that may arise in some individuals.

No student will be denied admission on the basis of race, color, age, religion, disability, handicap, gender, gender identity.

For courses to be conducted, a minimum enrollment is required. In addition, there can be maximum enrollment based on the studio size, equipment and the instructor’s requirements.

Occasionally classes are canceled due to insufficient enrollment. If the school cancels the course, students are encouraged to transfer into another course if space is available. If the student is not able to transfer, all fees will be refunded.

In the event a course is cancelled due to low enrollment or teacher’s absence, notice will be given one to three days prior to the course start date.

Students who withdraw from a course up to one week before the first class are eligible for a full refund.

If a student withdraws less than five (5) days prior to the start of the course a $25 fee will be deducted from their refund.

No refunds will be issued after the start of any course. After that, consideration can only be given with a written medical excuse, or in the case of other extraordinary circumstances.
