Asian Brush Artist’s Guild Workshop - Frank Liao: Chinese Flower-and-Bird Painting in the Ling-nan Style

In three sequential classes Frank Liao will provide instruction in Chinese flower and bird painting in the Ling-nan style. Students will learn which brushes to use, how to use water, how to load the brush with color, and how to handle the brush to create strong and spontaneous movement and shapes. These workshops will enable students new to Chinese brush painting to gain some facility with the basics and will help more experienced artists to refine their skills. For those who stay for each workshop, Mr. Liao will do another demonstration, following which students will practice on their own and have the opportunity to be tutored individually.
